... the Domaine Les Hautes de Loire in October for 3 nights. They have reserved apartment 25 for me in the carriage house.
Can any travellers who have stayed there let me know if that is a good, bright room? Is the carriage house as good as the main house?

... tricky - you will only find apartments in the bigger towns (Tours, maybe Amboise). You will have a lot more luck looking for holiday cottages (gites) but even they may come with a minimum booking of one week - Spetember was our busiest time last year, and accommodation was in high demand ... more
