... and look for a property/villa rental which suits. Stay off the coast, as a base, between Almeria and Gibraltar, if genuine in your wish to not want to come across Britons regularly (and other north Europeans 'irritate', if that is your concern) .

Villages to explore etc. but very little night life or "Brits" if you avoid Chite Google Viasur, Lecrin .. lots of places to choose ... more

... most of the apartments and villas are is very uninspiring and quiet run down in parts.
Much nicer settings in nearby Almuñecar or, IMO more attractive still, at Nerja another 20 minutes drive further on.
At Salobreña you are a long drive from many of the ´must sees´of Andalucia ... more

Yes the cold worries me, especially coming from an Australian summer, but we are booked so we'll be there. Is central heating worthwhile for a coastal villa in say Nerja ? ... more
