By coincidence we stayed at the promised land lodge in Kizimkazi. We wanted to go see the dolphins in the south of Zanzibar and ended up staying at this great place for a couple of nights. It is ran by a really nice guy named Shabby that makes you feel at home at this truly amazing place. The drive to the place is about one hour, we pulled over a couple of times to make pictures which made the drive a bit longer. If remember correctly we payed a bit over 100.000 Shilling for the drive from Stonetown.
The 'lodge' consists of a couple or seaview huts with musqueos nets, electricity and african beds, nothing fancy but except from the view and atmosphere you don't need anything else. Apart from that the price is very ok compared to the big and expensive resort on the rest of the coast.
In the evening we cooked some fresh fish on the bbq. The fish we bought ourself from a fisherman in the village. Kizimkazi is a real fisherman village, people do not speak english and...
