Macleay Island 'is' an island as such and can be reached by either a ferry service or a barge service; the ferry transports passengers only, while the barge service transports passengers with their cars. Both these services operate from 7am-6pm, 7 days a week from Redland Bay, the closest land point to Macleay Island. Redland Bay itself is approx a 45 minute drive from Brisbane CBD and the Gold Coast.
Most things you require while staying can be purchased, as the island boasts 2 supermarkets, a butcher, a local baker, a fresh seafood shop and a take away pizza place. If you prefer eating out, then there's a fabulous restaurant, a local pub and both the Golf Club and Bowls Clubs offer bistros for dining.
Sunset Waters even has its own mooring, offering guests a place to tie up their boats securely, after a day fishing or exploring Moreton Bay
