Additional Location Information
Apple House is located in a quiet conservation area of Kyoto City where guests can have the best of both worlds - you can easily access the main tourist areas by excellent public transport, and can sleep very well at night ( many people mention how well they can sleep ).

Shugakuin is a very traditional neighborhood of Kyoto. Many families have lived here for generations and old farmhouses can still be found in the midst of more modern properties. There are several temples and shrines within walking distance, including the splendid Shugakuin Imperial Villa, Manshuin and Shisendo temples. Simply walking or cycling around the narrow lanes is a pleasure with so many immaculate gardens to see.

Three good supermarkets, a 7-11, bakeries, coffee shops, and other amenities including the local train station are ten minutes walk away from Apple House. The frequent ( every ten minutes ) No. 5 bus stop is just five minutes walk from Apple House. This bus runs south past Ginkakuji ( the Silver Pavilion ), Kyoto Handicraft Center, Heian Shrine, Kyoto Zoo, Gion and though the congested shopping area to Kyoto Station. Gion is just 25 minutes ( 230 Yen ) away by bus.
