Five of us wanted to have a base for visiting places like Florence, Pisa and Lucca and this farmhouse was ideal as centrally situated in northern Tuscany. You need a car but don't expect to get a medium sized car up the very steep and narrow track which is not paved until a quarter of the way up! We had to leave the car in the road each day and walk up which is not easy with heavy shopping and the heat. The farmhouse is basic but clean and has lovely views of the medieval village. It was easy to relax there and enjoy alfresco meals. Mostly we drove about 10 mins to the local train station to get to the cities. Well priced and regular the train took the strain of not having to face trying to tackle narrow streets and find parking!
Some parts of the property could have been update. Then lounge is not comfortable with a hard sofa covered in polyester loose covers. It was also musty. The garden furniture was a bit old and there were only 2 loungers for five of us.
