Hewn from the rock and set on the very edge of the small village of Fuente Nueva, near Orce in the province of Granada Andalucia and with far reaching views to the mountains, the cave-house is in a wonderful location.

The surrounding scenery is very varied, ranging from semi-desert, scrub-covered hills, cut through by fertile irrigated valleys, to high mountain ranges whose lower slopes are clad in vast pine forests. There are several natural parks in the area, where the possibilities for walking, picnicking and observing the wildlife are virtually limitless.

Mountain bikes can be hired locally and there are fascinating guided walking and cycling tours available. Anyone interested in archaeology will find plenty to occupy them too, with the village and area famous for its archaeological finds. The towns in the region have numerous fiestas, one of the most interesting being Orce's two week long cultural festival in August.
