We spent 10 days at La Gaeta over Easter this year. It was perfect accomodation with plenty of space and a lovely balcony with views over the Lake. It is possible to walk to three decent restaurants but take your torches as it's round the back of tunnels for about 1.5km. We're cyclists and found it to be a great location to cover the whole lake and beyond - very good for getting to Lugano (quite hilly). In 3 minutes you're in Menaggio so you can easily access the shops and restaurants there and the boats to get across the lake. La Gaeta was very peaceful and we had a terrific time here. Strongly recommended. It has a huge pool which would be fantastic in summer.
