We went last year in Summer and this year we were back in October. Both times we had a great time and will be back again next year. We stayed in the farmhouse but the great thing is you've got a huge estate to explore and the kids loved walking around with wildlife all around (pigs/dear/chickens the lot) Particuraly liked going in the Autumn as it was a great excuse to light the fire every night for marshmallows, glass of wine and family bonding! There's also an English couple Vicky and Luke who live on the estate who are there to ask any questions and steer you in the right direction. Basically everything we hoped it would be for a great family holiday!! Also went horse riding for the day at Villards only 5 mins away. Good value and wife who's a good rider went on fantastic trek around while I took the kids out around the local area on the ponies!! Really good experience and scenery out riding was amazing. Thoroughly recommend the accomadation and the area.

I would highly recommend staying at Le Puy as it is simply beautiful. I almost hesitate to write a review as I'd quite like to keep this place a secret as it's so lovely and basically so cheap!! It's the perfect place for a romantic getaway or a family holiday as it ticks so many boxes. There are acres of private woodland to wander through, amazing wildlife on the estate, including deer - some of them quite friendly! - a gorgeous heated swimming pool, lovely places to visit nearby, such as Lake Vassiviere, quaint French villages and towns, a couple of excellent restaurants if you choose to eat out, horse riding facilities, and loads more activities. If chilling out is more your thing you couldn't pick a better spot. You could stay the whole week and never leave the vast estate that the house is set in, as it's simply beautiful, and the accommodation in the house itself has everything you could possibly need. It's finished to a very high standard and yet manages to retain its utterly...
