Being a tourist town makes Williamsburg one of the easiest places to find family friendly restaurants. For the most part, every restaurant has a children's menu and supplies coloring pages and crayons. There are a few restaurants that go that extra mile to make your child feel welcome. Your children will love Hayashi because of how they treat children. They have both great sushi as well as cook on the table (hibachi). The waitresses always talk to the children customers and they have special kids' chopsticks. The sushi chef will make kid friendly sushi without raw fish, and they are happy to let children share special order dishes. Even If you are eating sushi at a table the chef at the hibachi tables will get your children involved in the show by flicking shrimp tails in their direction! They have high chairs and booster seats if you need them.
Possibly one of the most inviting family friendly restaurants in the area due to the atmosphere and friendly staff would be Bistro 515. One if not the only restaurant in Williamsburg that has a Flat Screen TV in each booth. A children's menu is available featuring items that your kids are sure to love like chicken tenders with fries or pizza. On the reverse side of the menu, with the provided crayons, children can play games like connect the dots, word searches and much more! Bistro 515 opened late 2006 and is open for Breakfast and Dinner.
One of the other places that is extremely child friendly is Carraba's Italian Grill. Although this is a chain restaurant, and some of you may be familiar with it, the food is superb. The children will love the fact that they give each one of them a ball of pizza dough to play with at the beginning of the meal. It will hold their attention until well after the meal is finished. Besides being kid friendly the food is always excellent. It is fresh and their freshly prepared bread is to die for. The tables in the bar area are high so that does limit seating somewhat if you need a highchair.
If you are looking for fast food options here are three suggestions: There are two Chic-fil-A's in town that have probably the most healthy fast food choices, and both have indoor playgrounds. They have kids' meals that give you a choice of fruit salad with instead of French fries, and you can trade in your kids toy for an ice cream if you like. The second is Quizno's in New Town. They have a really nice kids meal that comes with goldfish instead of French fries, a drink and dessert. They have an outside seating area that is nice on a sunny day. The third is California Tortilla. This is a Mexi-Cal restaurant that specializes in fancy burritos. Their kids meals are very nice. One of the most popular is their "make your own taco" meal. It comes with two soft or hard taco shells, beef or chicken and cheese, freshly made tortilla chips and con queso dip, a drink and a brownie. They also give crayons and a coloring sheet for the short amount of time you wait for your food.
There are many more restaurants in Williamsburg. Check out all of the chain restaurants to see if there is your favorite.
Enjoy your trip and Bon Appetit !
