The Cheese Shop- Merchants Square (since 1971) relocated from 424 Prince George Street to a significantly larger space at 410 Duke of Gloucester Street in 2003.  The new business is still owned and operated by the Power family and includes over 200 imported, domestic and artisanal cheeses, freshly baked breads, specialty foods, wonderful sandwiches and a new wine cellar with over 4,000 bottles.  Uniquely situated under the same roof as The Cheese Shop is Fat Canary restaurant.  Also powered by the Power family, Fat Canary opened in 2003 and has already been awarded the prestigious AAA Four Diamond award for 2005, 2006 and 2007.
