- Ben & Jerry’s: Ben & Jerry’s is a company known for delicious ice cream and a social conscience. The factory is about 10 miles south from Stowe on Route 100, in the town of Waterbury. It’s a pleasant drive, as the road to Waterbury passes through scenic pastures. The $3, thirty-minute factory tour includes ice cream samples at the end!
- Cold Hollow Cider Mill: Also located a few minutes from Stowe off the Route 100, the mill produces some of the best old-fashioned apple cider in New England. Open seven days a week, year-round, the Cold Hollow mill offers free group tours. In addition to cider, tour participants can sample jelly, fudge and pastries.

- Burlington & Lake Champlain: Burlington is an hour from Stowe, but if you are coming out of state you will probably be using the Burlington airport anyway. To get to Stowe from Burlington, take Route 89 east and then Route 100 north.
