In addition to jogging, walking, Bachman Lake Park also offers shaded areas for picnics, including permanent metal tables and BBQ grills for cooking up your "grub"! There is an area for the kids to play , with obstacles, slides, titter-totters, etc, near the large Pavilion Area (north side-center), Off of Northwest Highway. Either, bathrooms, or "Portapotties" are available adjacent to all of the Parking lots. On the south side of the lake, you will find additional picnic areas, a permanent bathroom, and a water fountain. There are also some exercise areas, on this same south side, near the bathroom-water fountain area.
Bachman Lake Park has become a favorite of the nearby Hispanic areas, and their peoples. Although, non-hispanics might be the minority at this park, all residents and friends of Dallas are welcome here. The ONLY problem that one might encounter at this mostly Hispanic City Park is that not all of the Hispanic population are able to speak English. Most of the Hispanics show a desire to learn English, and to be able to communicate with their English speaking American neighbors and friends. Learning a new language is a word-by-word process. If you are an English speaker, perhaps you might be able to help the hispanics with this endeavor, word-by-word.
