There is nothing too extreme about Strasburg’s weather—top temperatures are in the nineties range, though the eighties form the bulk of summer highs, and winter weather can dip into the twenties and teens but rarely much lower.  Rainfall is consistent throughout the months and in line with the national average, although the area is snowier from January to March than in most other places in America.

Although weather should not determine how you set your itinerary , Strasburg is not a winter wonderland, at least for tourists.  The Toy Train Museum closes every year from January to March, and has limited hours in November and December.  The Strasburg Railroad is also much more limited in the winter, with many more closed days during these months.

The Railroad Museum of Pennsylvania has, thankfully, more consistency in its schedule, though it is also open more days from April to October.

The Dutch Wonderland Theme Park in neighboring Lancaster also closes its doors for the winter, helping all the more in constricting Strasburg’s calendar.
