The Wharton Center at Michigan State University is the place to go for most shows -- particularly plays, musicals and smaller-scale concerts. The Breslin Center, also on campus, hosts the larger concerts.

In addition to the traveling shows that come to Wharton, check out BoarsHead Theatre and Riverwalk Theatre, both downtown.

Lansing also has its own professional orchestra. The Lansing Symphony Orchestra performs six MasterWorks, three Pops and one Family Concert every year at the Wharton Center. The LSO also performs Chamber, Big Band and Sacred concerts throughout the Lansing area.

Several smaller venues hosts intimate concerts -- Creole Gallery in Old Town is particularly notable. Also, the Ten Pound Fiddle at MSU often brings in folk acts, most of which play at the Unitarian church in East Lansing or Erickson Kiva on the MSU campus.
