Rental Cars

Many rental car companies are located in the terminal of KCI airport, including Alamo, Avis, Budget, Dollar Rent-A-Car, Enterprise Rent-A-Car, National, Thrifty and more.

Experience with the Dollar Rent-A-Car facility here shows they can be incompetent.  If you do decide to rent from Dollar at MCI (the rates are sometimes about half those of Hertz) you would be well advised to check your rental contract, inspect the car on pick-up, allow plenty of time for the return of the vehicle, take the time to wait in line to see someone personally to get a receipt for the return, carefully review all the charges, and allow plenty of time for the infrequent shuttle to the terminal.
