Orlando offers a variety of Performing Arts to enjoy during your vacation. Orlando's primary local performing arts venue is the Bob Carr Performing Arts Centre in Downtown Orlando. Major companies that perform in the Bob Carr Centre include the following:
Orlando Philharmonic Orchestra
For additional acts and performances at the Bob Carr Theatre and the Amway Arena you can also visit the Orlando Centroplex website. In future years, the Bob Carr Centre will be replaced by the new state-of-the-art Dr. P. Phillips Orlando Performing Arts Centre planned to open in 2012.
In addition to local performing arts, Orlando is also home to two world famous theatrical groups in the attractions area:
Cirque du Soleil - La Nouba (in Downtown Disney)
A favorite performance in Orlando is Cirque du Soleil's resident Orlando show, La Nouba. Located on the West end of Downtown Disney next to Disney Quest, it is known as one of Cirque's finest shows. Tickets range in price from $49 to $95, depending on location. Sitting up close allows an awesome view of everything going on during the show (with a little head tilting to watch the acrobatic stunts), but there really aren't any bad seats in the house. The show is family-friendly, and includes elements of imagination, colorful costumes, beautiful music, and general amazement.
Blue Man Group - Sharps Aquos Theatre (in Universal Orlando)
In addition to performing arts and theatrical attractions Orlando also offers a variety of dinner shows and a collection of smaller amateur theaters throughout the area.
