Camps Bay is easily reached from Cape Town by public transport (Houts Bay Bus) and is a spectacular place to dine. There are numerous restaurant and bars where you can get good food at reasonable prices. Most of the bars and restaurants are trendy and frequented by a mix of tourists and locals. The majority of restaurants overlook the beach and it’s a great place to experience a sunset whilst having a cool beer, great South African wine or cocktails.

Blues is seems to be no longer an excellent restaurant with locals warning of terrible service and poor food  letting down the nice decor. This assesment is correct is recent tourist reports about Blues are correct. Expensive as well. There is  a great bar next door which serves fantastic cocktails and plays good chill / ambient music during the day and has a DJ on weekend nights. They bar also sells good food, which is prepared in the restaurant kitchens next door.  Codfather is an uusual and popular restuarant with  no menu - just  select the fish you want from the counter

Take time to wander down the street before you decide to eat. However in Blues and probably some of the other restaurants, you will need to book in advance on peak nights.

When it's time to go home, get a cab back to Cape Town and you’ll be there in 20 minutes.
