You might assume, because cars cannot get there, that Railay Beach would be a silent, peaceful place. That does not seem to be the case, as many long tail boats go and come, creating a lot of noise in this little bay. You can also hear construction going on at the nearby resort - including hammers by day and Hughes generators at night.
This wonderful place is suffering from the enormous pressure of tourism, especially the water and the beaches, which are littered with garbage and the stink of petrol from boats.
Hopefully, things will change soon, so that this does not become the future for all places in Thailand.
