By train:  The main city of Luxor is located right on the main railway line for all of Egypt .  Travelers can take the train from that Luxor station to Aswan (as well as to Cairo ).  The ride between Luxor and Aswan takes approximately four hours.  Trains are generally comfortable and are considered one of the safest methods of getting around for travelers to use.

By boat:   Another means of getting around the Nile River Valley is by boat.   Many travelers use travel on the Nile itself to get from one part of the valley to another.   Ferries an cruise ships both make their way around the area.
