Many people visiting Egypt want to ride horses while they are here and there are some very nice stables with lovely Arabian horses. Unfortunately, most of these stables are NOT in the area of the Giza pyramids although there are millions of stables near the base of the plateau. The level of training and care of the horses in the stables near the pyramids is pretty sad because these are very commercial hack stables that focus on half hour rides for tourists. If you want to do some serious riding, look a bit south towards the Abu Sir and Sakkara areas (only about 30 minutes away) which are infinitely less commercialised and where there are some really good stables. The desert in this area is much cleaner, quieter and there are a number of antiquities sites.  You can find some of the better stables on the internet by doing a search for horseback riding Egypt.
