The climate in Tbilisi is considered temperate, which means that the city experiences four distinct seasons.  Although it can be visited year round, certain months are more comfortable than others.

On average, the hottest months of the year are July and August, during which time the daily high temperatures will generally hover in the upper 80’s and lower 90’s.  The nighttime temperatures during these months will generally drop to the upper 60’s.  The late months of summer are generally very dry, with little precipitation.

The coldest months of the year on average are December and January, during which time the daily high temperatures will reach the mid to upper 50’s.  The nighttime temperatures during these months will generally drop to the low 30s’.  Freezing temperatures are reached during some nights, but this is not the norm.

In general, Tbilisi, and the entire country of Georgia are fairly dry.  On average, the rainiest time of the year is between April and June, but even during this time, rainstorms rarely ruin entire days.   The driest months are those immediately preceding and following these “rainy” months.
