Muscat City Centre in Muscat receives over a half-million visitors a month (a total of 8 million in 2005), and because of its variety and standards of quality, is a magnet for shoppers. The centre offers strollers, nursery facilities, handicap accessibility, and even male and female prayer rooms for the spiritually inclined!

ATM machines are planted throughout the centre for convenience, as well as some commonly known fast food purveyors such as "Noodles House, Beila, Burger Nation, Crepe Cafe, Chillies , Costa Cafe,Borders, ZARA, Zara Home, Forever21, GAP, Monsoon, Sun & Sands, Stradivaruis, Pierre Cardin, Domani, La Senza, Wool Worths, The Body Shop and other familiar offerings, but there's a number of regionally known shops as well: Mikyaji, Yateem Opticians, and Promod.

Recently another Branch of the City Centre has opened in Al Qurum, it has similar stores to the one in SEEB, but not all of them. H&M has opened there too.

Centre Point is another place to shop at, so many things under one roof, there are four branches: Sohar, Al Khuwair, Ruwi and another in The City Centre (Seeb). You have "Life Style" there, "The Baby Shop", "Max", "Shoe Mart", & Home centre also (except for the Ruwi Branch). Prices are so reasonable there.

Al Bahja Mall, is another popular mall that is located in the Seeb area. You will find "Marks and Spencers" there and "Toys R Us"  which are the only branches in Oman. There are many other famous and popular stores available such as ID Design; which is a well known furniture store that offers rare and contemporary home fashion. A cinema is available in that mall too as it is the only cinema in the area and the second cinema branch in the country. There's an indoor themepark called "Foton" which is considered as one of the main attractions for Al Bahja as it is the only mall that has an indoor roller coaster (small one) as well as exciting water games. The mall gives a rather quiet calming ambience compared to other malls as it eases the minds of the people during their visit.

Souq

The Mutrah Souq (bazaar) is famous for its jewelry, frankincence, clothing and antiques: a good place to pick up souvenirs. The Jawharat A'Shatti is a mall in Shatti Al Qurum, which even Starbuck's has managed to infiltrate. The local currency is the Omani Rial, but the dollar is frequently accepted there. Go to the old section of the city and try your hand at negotiating prices with shop owners.

Mutrah Souq

Everything from native dates to Omani daggers to the world's most expensive perfume (found at Harrod's in the City Centre Mall) can be found in Muscat if you look for it.
