Kuwait is a relatively small country, but it has a rich history and thus it has many museums and places of interest for visitors. Kuwait City is home to many of the most popular destinations in the country. Most of the popular places to visit are of interest to people of all ages – ranging from child to adult.

Kuwait Towers : This site is one of the most recognizable landmarks in the country. Visitors can travel to the top of the towers and have a magnificent view of the country. The top of the towers revolve so that a view from all angles can be achieved.

National Museum : The National Museum is large and consists of many different buildings. During the Gulf War, the Iraqi army attempted to destroy the museum. However, the museum does still exist and many of the famous works of art that were stolen by Iraq have since been returned. Inside the museum there are pieces of historical Islamic art, relics from pearl dives, and there is also a planetarium.  Attached is beit Albader, an old Kuwaiti house.

Tareq Rajab Museum :  A private museum housing a very large collection of ceramics, metalwork, manuscripts, jewellery, textiles, paintings, and arms and armour. The objects are from all over the Islamic world from Morocco and Spain in the west to China in the east . The museum is the private collection of Tareq Sayid Rajab and his wife Jehan and has been accumulated over a period of 50 years. Kuwait Flight Simulation Center: The Kuwait Flight Simulation Center is the largest and "first" of a kind center in the world. The center offers 11 cockpits which includes Airbus 320, A321, A330, MD-11, Boeing 747, Boeing 737, Boeing 777, Cessna 127-1, a helicopter, F-18 and F-16 simulator same as used by NASA. The center also offer flying courses such as Flying Training (Theoretical + Practical), Radiotelephony, Meteorology, Air Law, Air Traffic Control, and Air Navigation & Instrument Flying. The center also has a coffee shop named First Lounge, a HobbyCraft Shop and a Pilto Shop where you can buy the latest simulator games from Wilco, Aero Soft, eDimensional and Dreamflyer. Tareq Rajab Museum of Islamic Calligraphy : This museum  traces the development of the Arabic script from its earliest periods to the present day. The script is represented in all its styles and forms and on diverse media such as manuscripts, wood, metal, stone, marble and textiles. The objects are beautifully displayed on 2 levels in a hall that is high enough to display various 19th century coverings of the holy Ka'aba in Mecca. Grand Mosque:  It is possible to take a guided tour of the Grand Mosque. There is a phone number and information about tours on a plaque on the wall beside the main entrance.  The Mosque is well worth a visit - the interior is impressive and the guide was very informative.  

Beit Alsadu: right next to the national museum is this old house which is now a museum for bedouin weaving (sadu).

Museum of Modern Art: Located in Sharq .houses a fair number of modern art pieces done by local and regional artists. 

Memorial Museum: Museum that showcases the atrocities of the Gulf War.  Located near the new oil sector building and close to Shuwaikh park.

Mubarakiya:  The old Market in Kuwait City. 

Alqurain Martyr's house Museum: Located in Alqurain (a neighbourhood South of Kuwait City and close to Fahaheel).  a couple of houses where the last shootout took place during the Gulf War converted into a museum. 

The Red fort: Located in Jahra City, 30 minutes drive northwest of Kuwait City.  A house once built for a spring/summer getaway became the base of the 1920 Jahra war.

Failaka Island: Take a ferry from marina mall or from the small port near Showbiz to Failaka.  The one from marina mall is faster.  Failaka island is home to archaeological sites that date back to the bronze age. 

Parks: There are several parks and amusement areas that are perfect for children wanting and needing a place to release all of their energy. In the amusement parks, there are typical rides and other activities normally found at traditional theme parks around the world.
