Pakistan in terms of visiting is divided into two parts. One is southern Pakistan, the other Northern Pakistan or Northern Areas of Pakistan. Northern Areas of Pakistan is a bit more different than Azad Jammu and Kashmir ,which frankly speaking most of the people do not know.
The reason for me to divide Pakistan into two parts is weather. Pakistan has weather that is extremely hot, extremely cold, pleasant weather etc.

- Visiting Northern Pakistan
Visiting Southern Pakistan
Southern Pakistan becomes extremely hot, humid. Cities like Karachi, Lahore, Multan and Bawalpur experience extreme hot conditions with day time temperatures around 40°c + and not to mention the humidity. Although monsoon settles in during july/august. But temperatures drop only for a couple of days and the extreme weather cycle starts again. It is recommended to visit Southern Pakistan during winter only. The temperatures are fine and during the day you will enjoy the sun. Pakistan's southern parts are also more related to historical and cultural activities that attracts tourists. These places are well enjoyed during winter season.
Visiting Northerm Pakistan
Ahh. A favourite part of Pakistan. Pakistan's northern areas are no dought a blessing of God to the people of Pakistan. Northern areas are the hub of adventure tourism in Pakistan. Every year hundreds of tourists flock to view the high peaks, climb peaks that soar 8000 meters in to the sky. Drive 4x4 vehicles into lush green areas and enjoy the 1000kms of the Karakoram Highway. If you are just a family person wanting to enjoy Pakistan, Northern Areas of Pakistan are recommended. You can have plenty of outdoor activites with your family and enjoy a very pleasant time during your stay at many places in Pakistan. Not only are these famous for adventurers, but nature lovers and eco-tourists simply cannot resist the temptation the mighty mountains present. The best time to visit northern Pakistan is during spring and summer. Since these areas are well above sea level , temperatures drop below freezing point in winters at most places. Spring and summer present the best time, but during summer you experience sunny days that will tan your skin in a couple of hours. Why? Because there is no air pollution, air is thin so the sun hits you hard. Better have a pair of sun glasses and some suncream.
