Lech is located in the Austrian Alps at an altitude of 1,450 meters. It experiences a well defined four season climate. Winter is the high season and due to its location in the mountains, Lech receives a large annual snowfall making for great ski and snowboarding conditions. Conditions can be checked at Snow Forecast.com where you can also get live web-cam video feed of the slopes and snow conditions. People from all over the world come to Lech to enjoy the ski resort and upscale lifestyle in the winter. You'll see and meet people from all over Europe, the U.S. and elsewhere during the peak of ski season.

Winter can last late into April at times but as soon as the snow melts flowers take over and create a beautiful and green spring that leads into a warm and sunny summer. The summer sees a fair share of tourist but usually only for shorter periods of time than the winter vacations. If you do plan to come in the summer, plan on bringing many layers of clothing as the temperature can drop incredibly quickly if the sun is hidden by a cloud and as soon as it goes down.

Christmas and New Year's is the highest tourist season of all. The charm of the Austrian holiday season pulls in an enormous amount of visitors. Reservations should be planned early.
