Burleigh Heads is a great destination for families that want to get away from the hustle and bustle of Surfers Paradise. There are so many things to do in Burleigh and it is the only place on the Gold Coast that has it's own National Park. Most people don't realise that the National Park is even there! It is located on the point at Burleigh and offers great walks and amazing views. The walks can be done by any age group and the one of the tracks is stroller friendly. See bush turkeys, birds, whales and dolphins (in season). It is very cool.

Take time to wander along the oceanway walk on the beachfront as well. It has lots of exercise equipment and playgrounds for the kids. Take a picnic or even BBQ. Cricket on the point is also a must as you have the best view while having some fun with family and friends.  Have a surf on the point - or lessons if you've never surfed. It is one of the best spots on the Coast.  You will notice the many locals that excercise in the area as well - if you're active it is a great place to run or walk.

Burleigh is still quiet and a great family location. There are tonnes of hotels along the beachfront and near the national park. Make sure you check that you don't have to cross the busy highway to get to the beach! Not fun with children.
