35 Degrees South is on the seashore at Paihia near to the ferry pier. It is a bit pricey for everyday eating unless you are loaded or determined to spend all your holiday money. The sea-side of the restaurant is suspended over the water, which is fun but can get a bit cold as night draws on. A formidable set of space heaters takes the edge off a bit. Food is interesting and the portion sizes are satisfying and about value for the money. There is a good range of well-kept beers. There is a comfortable feeling about the place and the aquarium is worth seeing and a nice backdrop to socialising at the bar.
