Hamilton Island is part of the Whitsunday groups of Islands in North Queensland, Australia.   It is a tropical island with a 5 star resort and private self-contained beachfront accommodation.  Golf buggies are used to get around the island and there is a beautiful beach with snorkeling on a reef to the front of the main accommodation area (there are turtles out there).  Boats and yachts can be hired, or you can book tours to various fantastic places - The Great Barrier Reef, Whitehaven Beach, other resort islands. Great spot for honeymooners, family groups and yachties!  There is an airport on the island and it is 2 hours from Sydney, 1/2 hour from Cairns.
