The Cité de la Musique is immersed in the greenery of the Parc de la Villette. Designed by architect Christian de Portzamparc this innovative project opened its doors 1995. Today the City of Music is a center of national and international reference entirely dedicated to music. In association with prestigious European theaters, it fosters musical creativity and the promotion of young European talent. The centre also co-produced exhibitions with foreign museums and disseminates its expertise and know-how around the world. 250 concert a year; a museum of rare music collections; a Media Center with some 100 000 documents offers a rich and varied learning and entertaining experience.
