The dome of the Les Invalides was erected over the crypt containing Napoleon's ashes.

Les Invalides was built from 1671 to 1676 by Louis XIV to shelter old and wounded soldiers. The monument to Louis' glory includes the more recent addition of a spectacular Dome Church whose crypt contains Napoleon's tomb.  A single entry ticket includes the Dome Church and the Invalides museum.
