There are numerous opportunities for visitors to Coventry to witness, or take part in sports and activities.

Many visitors who come to Coventry choose to bring along their clubs, and play a few rounds on the many public golf courses around the city. Although many of these courses are open to the public, most require players to make tee-time reservations ahead of time. Certain courses stay open year round, while others close during the colder months of winter.

There are three professional sports teams based in the city of Coventry. The highest level basketball team is called the Coventry Crusaders, whose season last from September into April. The Sky Blues are the city’s local football (soccer) team, and the Coventry Blaze is the city’s ice hockey team.

The area offers many recreational sports such as ice skating, and swimming. Other spectator sports include horse racing, and car races at the local speedway.  Rugby is a popular activity throughout most of England, and there are various fields around the city dedicated to this sport.

A nice way to spend the day during the summer is to take one of the numerous walking tours available in and around the city. For more information about these tours, and the other activities in the area, visit the Tourist Information Center .
