The weather in Grasmere never seems to get too hot or too cold.  Regardless of the time of year, the area's average temperatures stay in a fairly constant range between the mid-40's and mid-60's.  Although the town is fairly far north, its winter temperatures rarely drop below freezing.  During the summer months the average temperature in Grasmere is in the low 60's.

Even though Grasmere has a fairly mild climate, the Lakes Region area where the town is located is known for getting a great deal of rain, most especially during the late fall and winter months.  Its northerly location also makes the days during Grasmere's winters quite short.  These factors generally result in the majority of visitors coming to the region during the summer and early fall months when they can best enjoy the town's beautiful lakes and natural surroundings and well as spend time out of doors in its lovely gardens.
