With so many pubs offering the traditional 'sunday roast' there is plenty of choice but what makes that pub grub special to you?

This is really a page to get good pub grub, in a pub type atmosphere listed.

Cafes and restaurants have good review pages available to be reviewed but not many specific  pub grub reviews within Brighton are available to the tourist or new residents to Brighton.

Is it the location, the service, the food or price that gets you returning on a frequent basis?

Traditional pubs, such as The Cricketers are found mostly in the Lanes, OR OUTSIDE OF THE REAL TOURIST PARTS, and are reasonably priced as opposed to the seafront, with the larger brewery owned pubs more in town.

Some pubs are independently run small local brewery owned organisations, and offer specialist beers and ales of local sourced ingredients and brewing methods and are again found in the lanes or the older part of Kemp Town.

Lots of pubs along Saint James street offer real value for money 'happy hours' - with promotion offers often lasting all day on selected drinks, however some such as the Bulldog or The Zone do not offer hot food or snacks apart from crisps or peanuts.

Charles Street, Legends and THE CAMELFORD, just off SAINT JAMES STREET all offer great food and relaxed atmosphere with friendly staff for a daytime pub lunch/early evening meal , GOOD FOOD, VALUE FOR MONEY, GOOD CHOICE OF FOOD,but some do have licence restrictions applicable to children in the bar after certain times of the day or evening.

Most of the pubs around Saint James Street are gay friendly or  gay run and are great places to visit for a good value for money meal often with a 'cabaret show' or quiz night or some form of entertainment going on later in the evening or a Sunday afternoon and is often a real added bonus.

Many pubs offer light snacks to full English breakfasts, curries and roast dinners, all vary in price and mainly have a 'once its gone its gone' policy for serving Sunday roasts so if you find on you like and are planning a large group, or celebration get together, it may be as well to check with staff if you can reserve a table booking.

The nearby HARVESTER offers good value but can be very noisy due to its location above the Sea Life Centre, the pier and Coach drop off point but is well suited for families offering a choice of snacks and meals.

One consideration to make with any Pub offering Pub Grub served outside along the seafront area is the SEAGULLS !!

ALTHOUGH PERHAPS AN  OBVIOUS STATEMENT- What is not so obvious is that these pesky seagulls will soon raid a plate of food if you turn your attention away for a second !
