Major Banks

The following Canadian banks have full-service branches in Banff:  The Bank of Montreal (BMO)  at 107 Banff Avenue, and the Canadian Imperial Bank of Commerce (CIBC) at 98 Banff Avenue.  Both have ATM lobbies that are available 24 hours/7 days a week.

There is a branch of the Royal Bank (RBC) in nearby Canmore at 1000 Railway Avenue.

Credit Union, Treasury Branch

Also in Banff, you will find the Bow Valley Credit Union at 216 Banff Avenue, and the Alberta Treasury Branch in the Cascade Plaza at 317 Banff Avenue.

ATMs

ATMs (automated teller machines) are located throughout the town of Banff.  If your ATM card is part of the Interac network, or if you have a Visa or MasterCard, you should have no difficulty withdrawing cash from these machines. You can find an RBC machine in the entry area of The Keg on Banff Avenue. For cash advances on your credit card use CIBC for Visa cards and BMO for Mastercard/Maestro cards. If you have a visa debit card, you have slightly less flexibility. Most Interac ATMs will not usually work for Visa Debit cardholders. There are some, aside from CIBC which do work. Mac's 24hr convenience store on Wolf St. has an ATM which works with visa debit cards. Further ATMs can be found using this link.

Currency Exchange

Currency exchanges are located in the Cascade Plaza (317 Banff Avenue), the Clock Tower Village Mall (108-110 Banff Avenue) and in the mall at 211 Banff Avenue.
