Being a UNESCO World Heritage Site, Banff National Park does a lot to retain it's natural beauty and one of those things we embrace is recycling. In 2006, Banffites recycled over 3500 tonnes of residential waste, which represented 24% of our total waste generation.
GREEN BINS
Downtown Depot: 200 block of Beaver Street, in the public parking lot next to the Banff Fire Hall
Sort by type milk jugs, metal cans, cardboard, paper, plastics etc
BLUE & COMPOST BINS
Located throughout Banff neighbourhood
Sort by mixed papers, mixed containers, glass and organics
OTHER /DANGEROUS ITEMS
Items like car batteries, tires, propane cylinders etc can be recycled at the Town of Banff Operations Compound at 120 Hawk Ave.

BANFF BOTTLE DEPOT
Take your eligible containers back for the container deposit refund and recycling at the Banff Bottle Depot, located in the "Compound" or Industrial area of Banff - 101 Eagle Crescent.

HOTELS
Most hotels have a recycleables container in the room, but if not, ask at the front desk and they will be able to dispose of items correctly for you.
