There is a super fun but not cheap restaurant. It's called Villa Maria. Try the tamarindo margaritas and cajeta crepes. The beef tacos were succulent.
Garabatos is also a good choice.
The food is good but beware that any foreign credit cards are rejected by their credit card machine. This is very surprising for restaurants in this area and can be embarrassing. For good Peruvian ceviche in Polanco definitely check out Segundo Muelle Polanco, Alejandro Dumas No. 16. It's in walking distance of the major hotels such as JW Marriott and the W Hotel.
You can also find ceviche at La Mar.
Izote is the name of the restaurant run by Mexican super-chef Patricia Quintana. It's at Masaryk 511 and the phone number is 555 280 1671. The food is 'cocina Mexicana alta' (Mexican with a twist). The home-baked tostadas are delicious and there is a good selection of high quality Mexican wines.
Other well-regarded restaurants in Polanco include Pujol at Petrarca 254 (555-545-4111) and Bros at Lope de Vega 226 (55 5255 0594). The latter specialises in seafood, including ceviche.
A cheaper and lively option for seafood is the
Polanco branch of the Fisher's chain. It's at Avenida Horacio 232, and always seems to be packed at lunchtime. Since Mexicans eat lunch late, get there before 3pm to be guaranteed a seat.
