Throughout the year, there are plenty of events and festivals going on in La Paz. Because the weather in this city is warm year-round, they is no reason why attending these happenings should be put off.
Beginning on the first day of January, the New Year’s Day celebrations in La Paz are lively and entertaining. There are plenty of parades going through town, many firework showcases (both public and private), and general celebrations filling the streets.
Near the middle of every February, La Paz celebrates Carnival. Not nearly as large as the celebration held in Brazil or even the one in nearby Mazatlan, but there is still plenty of fun to be had.
A major celebration in not only La Paz, but all of Mexico is Cinco de Mayo, which is obviously held on the 5th of May. This is a Mexican national holiday, and celebrates the defeat of the French in the Battle of Puebla.
The La Paz International Bisbee Fishing Tournament is held in the middle of September and is a big deal in the sport fishing community. Bisbee also holds more fishing events during other months. Visit the Bisbee Website for more information.
