The current National Palace, house of the Dominican Goverment has an image that captivates over the profile given by the modern architecture that projects the historical city of Santo Domingo.

The Presidental house has a total area of 25,000 m2, and 18,000 m2 of construction, it was designed by the italian arquitect Guide D´alessandro Lombardi this work of neoclassic lines was inaugurated on August 16, 1947. To the original Construction wich is preserved entirely, there have been added adjacent areas that facilitate the acces and handling requires by the governmental works of the modern state.

The National Palace is the house of the Nation and the head office of the Dominican Government. It is a symbol and expression of the Dominican sovereignty and the place where important decisions are taken and the political are plans for the good develpment of the country.

Each of its spaces exhibits the attaction of the diverse architectural styles conceived by the creative genius of its builders. But in them is also printed the trace of memorable moments conformed from the past and present that shape the history of a tree and independent, vigorous and progressive, generous and hospitable country.

The corners of this house always find a way of reminding  that it belongs to this village.Therefore, its doors are permanetly opened to all the Dominicans as well to the foreigners.

The interior ambience unites symbols of the past, present and furute of the Dominican Nation.
