“welcoming hotel”

We did not like the room which we were allocated after booking by e-mail, it was in the attic with only roof lights, but M.Salamolard without hesitation re-arranged his bookings to find us a nice room (room 4) with a view of the garden. The highlight of this Auberge is the exceptional food along with the personal attention of the owners who made us feel very welcome. The menus offered are not cheap but are outstanding in quality, with large emphasis on local mushrooms when in season. There is ample parking and free WiFi is offered but for some reason we were unable to connect.
We would certainly return to this hotel when travelling through this area.

Room Tip: Avoid the attic room if you want a view. Some ground floor rooms are available.

A nice auberge a short drive away from QLT, in the middle of nature. Friendly and competent host. Guide-Michelin featured site with good restaurant. Comfortable rooms with nice bathrooms.

l'Auberge de l'Atre is an excellent restaurant. On arrival we felt straight away at ease with the friendly welcome. The food was wonderfully prepared and after speaking to the Chef it seems that they carrefully select their produce. Great service.
After the great meal we enjoyed a lovely night in the hotel which was equally impressive.
As they say in french......... parfait

“Very enjoyable, great food”

Every hotel and restaurant has it's own ambiance, and the cheerful and warm reception guests receive here is due to the attention by Odile and Francis, the owners/proprietors and chef of this country inn. We arrived on a chilly, rainy day and what a treat to find a fire going in the large (at least 10-foot) country fireplace of the lounge. We stayed in a nicely decorated ground floor room #2 which was of very good size with a comfortable large double bed. The bathroom was very large, all modern, with a hand held shower head. Both rooms were immaculately clean.

The entire dining experience in this lovely Michelin one-star restaurant is closely supervised by Francis, the chef, and it is a testament to his organizational skills that he can help you choose a wine, greet each table, let you smell the truffles, and still pull off a wonderful meal. The pacing, timing, and service was right-on. Again, the atmosphere is relaxed, friendly, and intimate, none of the stuffy formality one often finds in one-star establishments.

Odile and Francis' younger daughter helped with the service that evening and she was excellent. Their older daughter runs a hotel and restaurant (Hotel du Nord) just up the road in Quarre Les Tombes, so if Auberge d'Atre is full, I would not hesitate to try staying there. This family knows what they are doing and I think gracious hospitality is in their blood!

Francis and Odille are very welcoming and helpful, the food is superb, the room pleasant and comfortable. They went out of their way to make my husband's 40th birthday memorable and relaxed.
We would love to return and stay longer.
I think it helps if you speak French, although Francis has good English.
They persevered with my okish French, which I really appreciated.
