About the clientele and ambience: around 8pm this place turns into a prostitute pickup. I may have been the only room that stayed the entire night.
About the hotel itself: rundown old place with disgusting stains on the walls, broken floor tiles, a bare bulb hanging from the ceiling in the bathroom, and a tub that I was afraid to shower in.
The beach is lovely and the water is shallow and warm. Of course you won't get a moment's peace on account of all the hawkers and prostitutes kicking your chair and saying "you want (fill in the blank)?"
I repeat - do not stay here. If I could do it all again, I would also avoid Boca Chica entirely.
