My wife and I stayed at Hotel Zapata for 5 nights in early January of 2012. The hotel is immaculate, the service is top-notch, and we did not have a single complaint, minor or major. Every staff member was polite, our room was very comfortable, and the breakfast served was a nice way to start the day. Rather than being stuck in what seemed like very run-down all-inclusives, we had a beautiful stay, enjoyed the beach right outside of the hotel, and would never consider staying anywhere else when we return to Boca Chica.

Jose is THE MAN! I loved the service at this hotel. The rooms were very clean. The view of the beach is beautiful. The food is very good. This is honestly THE BEST PART of my trip to DR. If I ever return, I wont stay anywhere else.

My husband and I traveled to Boca Chica on Dec 31 and left on Jan 4, 2012. We found this location on tripadvisor, read the reviews and can only completely agree with what a positive place Hotel Zapata has been to us!!

We traveled from the North of the country, so one can feel the difference in climates: tropical, always warm Caribbean sea, white sand and palms all around - that is what one finds in Boca Chica and its beaches.

Zapata is a family run business - so it is a B&B style place: simple, clean and small. Nothing fancy,nothing glamorous, just down to earth and very very very easy going. If you are just like us - traveling for personal customer service, peace and harmony - Zapata will be for you!

The prices are very very affordable: both for lodging and food. The meals on site are simple yet well and freshly prepared, the stuff is hard working and honest. The cleaning lady is such a thorough cleaner, that we were surprised that she was "not stolen" by a larger hotel yet :)

The hotel is right on the beach, which is NOT a calm beach. One thing to always keep in mind: Boca Chica is very close to the capital, thus every single local person who wants to come to the beach, but can’t travel too far, does come to one of the two beaches of Boca Chica. It is rather unpleasant time for the visitors, but wait until Monday, as it happens only on weekends! During the week the beach and the city are different places!

It is also unfair to rate THE HOTEL by what THE CITY of Boca Chica is all about. Zapata has nothing to do with prostitutes present in the city; they don’t control how foreign tourists (men) act when they come to this location. The main strip can be a very weird place during the night, but if one stays at a restaurant or at the hotel – you are still enjoying your harmony!

Again, the hotel itself is highly recommended. Two brothers, Richard and Eduardo, have been very helpful from the navigation and assistance point of you. Polite, knowledgeable and pleasant.

For the price listed, the hotel is accurately described. The service is First Class and the hotel is very secured. The location is a little hidden, but the beach is just steps away from each room. The hotel is very clean, which made the stay extremely comfortable. The staff is very friendly. I would like to give a special thanks to Jose. From our arrival, to our departure Jose continuously checked on me and my boyfriend (who happens to be Dominican) to ensure that we were enjoying our visit in Boca Chica.
