We recently stayed a week in 1204 at Nirvana and were impressed with the quality of this accommodation. Firstly, the welcome by Barbara in reception was warm and friendly and a nice introduction to our stay. The apartment had the most spectacular views and the balcony was a very enjoyable space to share a few drinks. The decor was beautiful with lots of white and glass, and ample comfortable seating on white leather lounges. However, considering the quality we were surprised there was no Foxtel. The main bedroom was equally spectacular with great decor but only a double bed which took a bit of getting used to after the king bed at home. Just having a cotton throw on the bed was ideal for the warm nights (and I guess ease of washing). The ensuite, which shared the wonderful view through its extensive use of glass, had a lovely rain shower and a double basin with plenty of space to accommodate the cosmetics. The kitchen was spacious with plenty of glassware, cutlery and crockery, although we would have appreciate better quality cookware and more serving platters/dishes.
Although staying at Nirvana was a very enjoyable experience, at times the traffic was a bit noisy at night and heavier blinds would help block out the very early morning sun.
Kirra is a beautiful beach with warm water, a great paved foreshore for morning walks and also sitting to people watch in the evenings. Lots of shops and restaurants close by meant we could walk straight off the beach to buy a massive salad roll for lunch. The Gelato Bar on the ground floor of Nirvana was also very popular as was the Thai restaurant within 5 mins walk. However, one disappointment was the coffee bar (I think called Amira) on the ground floor. The brochure in the apartment listed they had children's breakfasts that included pancakes and also a breakfast that included juice and coffee. After being enticed by this we found the breakfast (at the same price as shown in the apartment guide) did not include juice or coffee and there were no children's breakfasts. As a compromise we ordered waffles for the kids to share that turned out to be hard and unappetising.
Overall, Nirvana at Kirra was a great place to stay and we hope to return to soon.
