“It's good but rather three stars hotel than four...”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed 7 October 2011

Very good located (though remote - car is necessary) palace (not the real one - it's been built in 1891 by rich manufacturer) with picturesque view and romantic architecture. Quite big swimming pool and good breakfast. On the other hand there is no enough care of details as we could expect in 4 stars hotel: furniture, bedclothes, carpets, plastic shower cubicle etc. sometimes seems to be like taken from the other hotel. There is no wi-fi, just one old PC with internet in the lounge, TV channels are only in german..Staff don't speak english fluently and all the written information is also only in german. For me the price was too high..

“Romantic Castle”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 13 June 2011

Reasonably priced, clean and roomey. The building is georgeous, the grounds well kept, the view from the terrasse where a stunning breakfast was served, fantastic!
The young female hotel director extremely helpful-told us about their staffing problems, which really did not affect our stay there.
One of the best meals we had was served at their Restaurant.

“My home my castle ...”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 10 May 2010

We've been there serveral times for leisure (spa, wellness, indoor pool) and were never disappointed. There are different rooms (single, double, junior and two-room suites), all nicely furnished. Clean bathrooms. Extensive buffet breakfast incl. fresh fruit, hot dishes and waffles. Restaurant serves delicious three-course-meals. Service is young but friendly and helpful. Located in the midst of Isle of Ruegen, a short drive by car to any point of interest of the isle. Poor public transport. Surrounded by a forest (really quiet at night) and close to a lake (Bodden) and an open-air-theater (plays during summer). You need to take a ride to get to the shores. An enchanted castle, I would definitely recommend to recreation-seeking singles and couples.

“Totaly disappinting!”
2 of 5 stars Reviewed 5 January 2007

When booking a "Schlosshotel" one expects Portiers, helpful and friendly staff, beautiful atmosphere... Nothing at all we found at this location! The whole place seems to be run by some apprentices (maximum age 20) and they are not really friendly and ethusiastic... The furniture is new, but coming from Java (you do not expect this in an old german gastle do you?), rooms are rather small, but clean. The "great" hall with an open fire place (wood was only for decoration...why liting it in the winter time??) and the Restaurant, where we had a cup of tea and some awful cheap tasting cake and a cup of hot chocolade, which tasted like sweet hot water, had an ambiance of an Train station. All in all the whole place looks nice from the outside, but inside it has the charme of a youth hostel, which obviously also reflects at the guest, since many of them were running screaming through the floor, calling from one room at the other room messages, slamming doors etc. Things which you definetely not expect in a "Schlosshotel".
