They especially love apples and carrots, so feel free to bring some along. There is no admission fee, though your generous donations are greatly appreciated and are what continue to allow us the ability to care for our donkey family, which has approximately 90 members at the moment. Our volunteers will be more than happy to show you around and answer your questions. And if you get there early enough, you can even help with the daily chores of feeding and caring for the donkeys, a great and educational experience for children! If you’d rather just observe, then you’re welcome to grab a seat on our covered porch, sit back with some coffee or a cold beverage and snack from our concession stand, or take a look inside our gift shop. Whatever you decide, we look forward to seeing you there! « less

“Pretty Cool”

Our ABC Tour guide brought us through the Donkey Sanctuary for a short period.
The donkeys seemed pretty clean and well kept. There wasn’t any horrible “donkey odor.” For $1 you can feed the donkeys a small bag of food (several handfuls worth). You can also “adopt a donkey” (in other words, “fund it”). The lady that hosted the tour was nice and wasn’t pushy for spending money. Our tour was just walking up to the covered area to feed the donkeys and get a short history of the place then leaving. We didn’t spend over 30 minutes here, and I think that was good enough for us.

The sanctuary is cool, and I’m glad I visited it.
I'd say 3.5 out of 5.

We stopped by on the Jeep tour. Our host was one of the volunteers. Very enjoyable diversion to the beach and shouldnt be missed. But agree that getting there by anything other than a 4x4 would be 'interesting'. Not a ton of things to do other than feed and pet the donkeys. Dont forget to buy something or leave a donation.

“Don't Miss the Donkey Sanctuary while in Aruba!!!!”

If you are ever fortunate enough to visit the beautiful island of Aruba, you MUST make a stop at the Donkey Sanctuary. If you were never a donkey fan before, you will be after just one visit. The donkeys love people and it's so much fun to have them all "so happy to see you". Desiree who heads up the organization is one of the kindest, nicest people you will ever meet. The people of Aruba are wonderful. The same kindness and friendliness that you see in people on the island carrys over at the the Donkey Sanctuary. I loved it and have been to Aruba twice. Seeing the donkeys is ALWAYS going to be a part of my Aruba visits. You will LOVE it! It's easy to get to, it's a beautiful scenic ride from the resort areas in Aruba to the Donkey Sanctuary. It's very easy to find. Be sure to check the hours that they are open. It's clearly posted on the entrance sign. Go early and before 3 p.m. Have fun!!!! And give Palapo a kiss from me! “Average attraction, not much to do”

Nothing much to it....you can pay $1 USD to buy some kibble to feed the donkeys. The owner is really nice, as the sanctuary operates on donations alone, her personality fit the bill. There are a few trinkets to buy, but I wouldn't stay more than 20 minutes here.
