Amazing views over Etna. good food. Incredibly helpful staff - owner went to collect our lost baggage from the airport for us when Alitalia wouldn't. Nice pool and excellent restaurant. Good rooms with working air conditioning (ignore reviews saying it doesn't, they just didn't turn it or properly!). Quiet with views of Taomina, a short bus, taxi or car journey away. Also 5 minute walk to Castelmola with amazing views and beautiful historic village. Couldn't recommend it more if you want a 4 star hotel in Sicily.

Stayed here for 3 nights on our honeymoon and used this gorgeous cliff-perching castle-top location as our base for visiting Mt. Etna, Taormina, Catania, and other sights.

Highly highly recommended!

Very nice hotel perched on an outcrop of rock above Taormina. Varying levels of accommodation - we went de luxe with Etna view and balcony. Good facilities, pool, sauna, gym etc.. Food good but perhaps a little expensive but plenty of options to go out. Discounts at a local bar and a restaurant in Taormina. Free bus to Taormina and a local lido. Great staff, very helpful - even corrected my Italian for me.

Reception Staff were excellent, helpful, happy and positive especially Adrianna.
Waiting Staff were mixed; the younger male and female were excellent, the older male was awful. Unfortunately I did not get his name. He was noisy in all his duties, clashing cutlery and crockery at breakfast and lunch. He would walk up to the table at breakfast and said nothing, I assumed to see if we wanted tea or coffee, but he just grunted. I was happy to use my limited Italian, but his demeanor did not change throughout the week and no breakthrough was made.
Food was below par and certainly not at the level of a four star hotel. We travel to different destinations in Italy every year and I am using the other hotels we have stayed at as a comparison.
• Poor selection, cold, greasy and overdone sausages and bacon
• Hit and Miss availability with fresh yoghurt
• Coffee just warm, Cappuccinos’ better
• Salt and Pepper never available unless requested
• One person on duty, who always disappeared to do non-breakfast tasks, no matter what time we eat
• Had to lay our own table some mornings, yet the hotel was less than half full
• Puddings left over’s from the previous night appeared, not my idea of breakfast
• Small flies on the fresh fruit, honey, etc.
• Limited cereal selection
Bedroom Good, (we upgraded to a terrace and Etna view). Comfortable bed and clean.
Shuttle service and Pool Excellent.
