We stayed in April after the main season and found Agonda in general to be pretty tourist free, which was great after the bustle of north India. We got front row huts and they were good - big enough, with a mosquito net, bathroom was OK and clean (a little primitive but what do you expect in a beach hut?). The only real noise is the sound of the Persian Sea.
The one thing we found is that you can get cockroaches on the inside of the mosquito net. We got 3 of them on the first night but having removed them, no more returned. Look - it's tropical, it's a beach hut - it happens. It didn't spoil our stay.
The staff were really friendly and always ready to chat. We asked Sandy, one of the staff, if he had ever been on holiday away from Goa and his answer really summed it up: "Why would I want to go away? I've got it all here!"
Food was excellent - try the kingfish. Along the road there were a few stalls selling trinkets. Again, the people there were really friendly. Some of the local lads donated their tennis ball for our children to play cricket with for a while. It is a real "sossegado" (laid back) place as the Goans would say.
Not having been there in the main season, it's hard to say what it is like then and of course standards may change when the place is packed (it was virtually empty when we went). However, a short taxi ride to Palolem showed how much more developed that is than Agonda. I would get there before the developers get hold of it!
