What a great place this is - Amanda & Richard gave us the warmest of welcome and this 'warmth' continued throughout our stay. Nothing was too much trouble including preparing an itinerary for one of our trip. This coupled with the beauty of the area made this a womderful holiday with an excellent breakfast included in the price.

My partner and I chose to stay in Lofer because it represented a cheaper accommodation option to Berchtesgadener Land which was our primary target destination. If you happen to decide to stay in Lofer, then look no further than Haus Patricia for your accommodation.
Amanda and Richard are great hosts because they will cater to your every need without being obtrusive. The establihsment is kept spotlessly clean, the rooms are of decent size, with all amenities perfectly functional, and the wonderful balcony with a view of the Loferer mountains is the icing on the cake. The breakfast is delicious with plenty of options to choose from, and we liked the communal atmosphere in the breakfast room created by Amanda/Richard chatting the guests up and people from different cultures communicating with each other.
Lofer is more of a village rather than a small town, and Haus Patricia is located right next to the centre, so you get immediate access to bars, restaurants, supermarkets, ATMs and shops. We found a small wine bar in the centre that stayed open late and enjoyed a nightcap there almost every evening after finishing our wanderings. There is also an extensive and well-marked network of walking and cycling trails which start right at the doorstep of Haus Patricia, and we recommend trying those out because they offer a wonderful opportunity to explore the surrounding area full of natural beauties.
Lofer's location close to the border with Germany also makes it an excellent base for exploring Salzburg, the aforementioned Berchtesgardener Land in Germany, as well as the Kaprun/Kitzbuehel area where you can make great day trips.
Bad weather was the only negative factor in our story, but there's not much you can do about it so it makes no sense to complain. :) All in all, we would warmly recommend Haus Patricia and Lofer as a holiday base in summer.

We spent the last week in May at Haus Patricia and it was just as we remembered from our first visit there 2 years ago. Richard and Amanda were the perfect hosts and it was good to see that their standards were just as high as before and nothing was too much touble for them. Our room was very comfortable and spotlessly clean. We stayed in the ground floor family apartment and enjoyed having breakfast in the hotel breakfast room. We hired a car during this trip and visited some fantastic places such as Krimmel waterfalls, the Grossglockner glacier and Salzburg being our favourites. We also did plenty of walking in the Lofer area. The scenery was fantastic and some of the best we have ever seen. We will definitely be going back.

Its a most amazing place to stay and we will be back again next year. When you find paradise you cannot help but return. Amanda and Richard make us so welcome and so helpful in all the little things that make it the most relaxing and superb holiday we could possibly imagine. The Stube has a bar, pool table and tables to just socialise in if its rainy out. There is also a sauna if required. The people of Lofer are all so kind and helpful which is a bonus. Breakfast is good too, and kept us going for most of the day. The best thing I will say is the hospitality we have from Amanda and Richard as they cant do enough to make us comfortable - thank you so much as we really appreciate all you both do.
