“The delights of the Dalamn park Hotel!!!!”

What an absolute hole. This is by far the worst hotel i have ever had the displeasure of staying in.
We missed our return flight as our 11month old boy became ill during our stay with what was diagnosed as an upper repertory infection. The insurance company acted swiftly and efficiently but unfortunately placed us in the hotel for 1 night after being discharged from hospital. The insurance company will be informed!
So imagine our delight to be placed in a hotel that was far from clean and stank of cigarettes. This i thought would not be a good idea for someone recovering from a breathing disorder
The lady on reception was quite rude but some other members of staff where quite helpful taking our luggage up to our room.
The room was small and grubby and need of some serious refurbishment. There where squashed bugs around the room with the information pack looking like it was used as a swat as it too was covered in squashed bugs. The beds were not nice with old worn sheets and a postage stamp size top sheet that did little to make the occupant feel cosy, that is of course if you where brave enough to get in the bed.
The bathroom was small and grubby with old stiff towels. The shower was luke warm sprayed just about everywhere but where you wanted it too.
For some unknown reason our room had 2 fridges although only one was plugged in! The cabinet that was removed from the room to accommodate the extra fridge was dumped on the dirty balcony. The second fridge had the previous occupants pack lunch it so room service obviously didn't do a thorough job. We didn't venture into the restaurant but after reading other reviews i think we were lucky not to.
The carpets where worn, stained and very dirty so walking bare foot would not be advised. The air-conditioning coughed and spluttered slightly cool air so i'm glad we didn't stay at the height of summer.
The swimming pool looked to be a breeding ground for mosquitoes. It looked like it had not been used for years.
All in all a hotel to be avoided at all costs. The only funny part of our visit was the fact that the hotel still has leaflets at reception showing the hotel in its heyday. These may have been placed there for visitors to use as proof of false advertising as the hotel website still promotes the hotel as it was in its heyday.
All i can add is that when you are offered a hotel as temporary stay for a delayed flight etc is try to look for reviews before agreeing to go there.

Room Tip: I'm sure a park bench would be nicer

“What a DUMP !!!”
1 of 5 stars Reviewed 2 October 2011

Having stayed in Marmaris for a month, we were looking forward to returning home to Durham. However due to our Thomas Cook flight being delayed due to Electrical problems, we were put up in this dump of a Hotel by Thomas Cook.

We arrived at the Hotel at 5am, the Hotel staff spoke no English. First impressions of the Hotel was not good, the carpet in reception was up the walls, bumpy and lifting. We were allocated a room on the second floor, which on first glance, looked okay. However the room already had guests.......cockroaches !!! plenty of them. The sheets were marked and had hairs on them, squashed insects were evident on the walls. The towels provided had not seen a washing machine in years !!! Overall the room was a dump.

After five minutes in the room, we vacated the room and decided to stay in the reception area. However everyone else had decided this was the best option, everyone was complaining aswell about the Hotel.

Breakfast was a disgrace, the only thing I had was Jam & Butter with some rock hard bread, the only reason I had this, was because they came in sealed individual portions.

Dinner was not much better, a basic selection of salads with six chips and two small chicken nuggets. The food was not self service, the kitchen staff put the portions on your plate. Actually I did get seven chips, but once the cook realised he had given me one too many, he removed one chip from my plate........ then smiled !!!

11 hours stay in this cockroach, flea ridden Hotel was a nightmare. The place is that filthy the cockroaches were moving out !!!

This Hotel needs closing down, or better still bulldozed !!!

“Thank you Thomas cook for a unforgetable stay......”

I was forced to spend a night at this hotel due to electrical problems with the aircraft I was going home on. It was arranged by my tour operator Thomas Cook.
As a hotel used by Thomas Cook you would expect a good standard of accommodation but this was not the case for me and the other 200+ passenger who stayed here.
We were greeted by staff who could speak Turkish but no English who ensured we all got a good look at the hotels facilities by directing us to the wrong floors and areas of the hotel when on our way to our rooms.
The passage carpets had a good feel about them until you had a close look and found they had lumps and bumps in them and not extra pile.
In the room you could tell that pest control was a major priority with insects squashed on the walls in order to kill then, the insects not yet caught had escaped by hiding under the blankets.
The room itself look quite decent in the dark but the truth was revealed once the light was switched on.
Security was also something the hotel took seriously with a door chain fitted to the room door but let down by the lock on the large window of a ground floor room being broken.
The towels provided had signs that they had been tested by a previous guest to ensure they met our requirements but the soap provided in the bathroom failed to work with the cold water from the shower.
Breakfast was a choice of hard bread or rock hard bread which could be toasted on a machine which looked older than the hotel with the bread being lost down the back of the grill. Coffee was provided to those in early but soon ran out. As for the other items on offer I was not prepared to try them as the look put me off.
Lunch was a great improvement with 2 bottles of pop available between us all the coffee was not now on offer.
The swimming pool had a nice green moss trim around the edges, with a limited amount of sun beds on offer.
Following 11 hours at this hotel it came as a great relief when I made the short walk out of reception and put my suitcase on the coach to return to the airport, the aircraft was fixed. It will take a lot longer to fix this hotel and it may well be quicker pulling it down and starting from new.

Room Tip: Dont accept this hotel when your aircraft is delayed.... Get a room at another hotel....

“what can you say”

I travelled toTurkey with my husband and my daughter (32). We were there to do some business and have a break. Our flight wasn't delayed it was never there Thomas Cook has made a mistake with the date and couldn't contact everyone so about 50 of us turned up at the airport . Our Rep was useless and really didn't have a clue she said "we could travel to marmaris at a cost of £75.00 english and about 1 and half hours away and then we would have to travel back the next day another £75.00 . We asked if there was any where near the airport and she recommened this hotel , she said it was ok and that cabin crew use it , which they did. The rooms were dirty and smelly and i dare not think about what was in the beds as we were so tired. They put a acamp bed in the room for our daughter as the prices for the rooms were not cheap. Breakfast was a joke, hard boiled eggs , cuecumber, cheese etc . There were about ten of us that stayed together and we all got each other through it. The staff were very good to us and let us stay at the hotel all day. We sat roumd the pool which was dirty as previuosly mentioned . But it was the end of the holiday season. The fact that airlines put there staff here is a joke. At the airport the other 40 people stranded were reps, but they got moved to another hotel the next day, no such luck for fare paying passengers.

“Even if you're on the run and offered sanctuary - AVOID this place”
1 of 5 stars Reviewed 25 September 2010

After the Monarch agent decided to play Houdini and disappear into the night, leaving 200 or so passengers stranded at Dalaman airport without any information regarding our flight delay, we were eventually herded into the alleged 3* Dalaman Park Hotel. Fortunately we had expected a pretty poor standard of accomodation, unfortunately we didn't plan for the Dalaman Park!!!

This place is the bowels of the earth - staff were rude and unhelpful, the rooms were disgraceful and clearly hadn't been cleaned for years and our "balcony" was simply a home for two air conditioning units, both churning out 100 degrees of heat and both leaking dangerous fluid onto our floor (the most common cause of legionella bacteria is the "overspill" from aircon units).

We were travelling with our 3 year old son, and my parents (both in their 70's) so a 24 hour stay here proved a little tricky to say the least as the rooms were too dirty to stay in and the hotel airconditioning was broken so the "lobby" was like an oven. We couldn't allow our son to enter the pool as this was without doubt the dirtiest water outside of the BP oil slick in the US.

The "food" which was provided by the hotel was absolutely disgraceful, now don't get me wrong, we didn't expect gourmet and michelin stars, however as I have strict dietary requirements and any deviation can lead me to be seriously ill we decided to pay for food from the "a la carte" menu to ensure that I stayed within my guidelines. I was quite shocked when a fat angry chef stood direclty in front of me and began shouting and refusing to serve us, so the family were subjected to chicken nuggets, chips and dry spaghetti (I on the other hand went hungry!). Breakfast was a similar affair with bread and cheese on offer this time (there were however chicken nuggets still on the floor from the night before in case anyone felt especially hungry).

The only positive point from this hotel is that we now know that we'll never be going back there again as the alternative option of sleeping in the middle of the runway of Dalaman airport would certainly be the more favourable proposition!!!
