The hotel is really relaxing. We were there for a weekend getaway and it turned out to be just what the doctor ordered.

Our room was modern and comfortable room, albeit a little bit on the small side. The hotel has a really nice SPA area which is free to guests. Children are not allowed in the SPA area after a certain hour in the afternoon, which makes it even more relaxing.

The restaurant had wonderful food and wine (the server could have brushed up on her wine knowledge) and we really enjoyed an evening in the restaurant and bar area.

I would recommend this hotel for anyone who needs to get away for a short while, it´s really reenergizing, though be aware that all the luxury and comfort comes at a price ;)

Well, this was a pleasant surprise! I hardly found anything to criticize, and if you have read any of my other reviews you would know that I usually do.


First of all - the hotel is very new. So it's modern, interior and exterior-wise. The location is simply beautiful, down by the waterside, no traffic, still very near the city centre (if you by any odd chance would like to go there...).


I don't understand the other reviewers who complain about the service. It was top notch, all the way. Correct, but polite. I have only good experiences.


The food; fresh, tasty, nice presentation (breakfast and lunch buffet). The a la carte in the evening was also very good (but not great). Ice cold creme brulee don't give any points in my book...

Fresh fruit, water and coffee/tea free all day. Very nice!

The room; very clean, modern, spacious, quiet, flatscreen tv, but no fridge/mini-bar.

And then there was the spa. After 7 hours with business meetings it was just great to relax there for a couple of hours. The outside jacuzzi was fabulous, as were the steambaths and everything else. It lifted the total experience to a new level. Super.

I found it a bit strange though, that it seemed we were almost the only people on the hotel... Didn't bother us (group of 15), but can they survive with that few guests?

I will be back for a relaxing week-end with my family to this hotel and I absolutely recommend it.

And if you wonder if I have been bribed to write this review I must answer no. But I would gladly accept a weekend and still say that I meant every word : )

Same as my last review of this hotel, only this time, I got a nice corner apartment, with kitchen, living room and balcony.

We had a one night stopover at the Quality Spa and Hotel in Strømstad in August on the way from Sweden to Norway. The resort has a nice location on the quay with good views to the city across the water, and the service staff is friendly. We had a drop-in stay, and got a sofabed made up in the living room area of our room made up within an hour after booking in, as well as a rollaway bed brought to our room.

Our room was very plain and modest, a bit unfinished-looking. Kitchenette available, but no utilities at all. Bathroom plain-looking.

The breakfast was great, good choices in cold/warm food options, and organic options. The restaurant is nice with high ceiling and nice views of the sea. The highlight of our short stay was the spa/swimming area, our kids (0, 6 and 8 yrs) loved the hour we stayed there. A bit small, but very clean and light.
